A sealed radioactive source is radioactive material that is permanently sealed in a capsule or bonded and in a solid form.
The capsule of a sealed radioactive source is designed to prevent the radioactive material from escaping or being released during normal usage.
The beam of radiation is used for purposes such as measurement of multiphase flow to provide the client with an understanding of the density of the mixture.
In 2019, Warren Sneedon, President and Founder of WSSM LLC, established the company with a vision grounded in his extensive background in multiphase metering, which dates back to 1998. With a rich history of leadership roles in top industry brands and a Radiation Safety Officer license acquired in 2007, Sneedon’s expertise laid the foundation for WSSM LLC.
Initially, WSSM LLC focused on perpetual well monitoring across water, oil, and gas production allocation. As technology evolved, so did the company's scope, extending into Flow Back/Drill Out sites. The real-time data from these meters became invaluable for decision-making and enhancing safety, significantly reducing flaring.
The evolution of multiphase meters has transformed them from tools for flowback operations to essential components for production monitoring and optimization. This shift not only boosts company revenues but also promotes environmental sustainability. However, challenges remain, particularly concerning diverse state regulations and the varying sources used by different manufacturers.
WSSM LLC addresses these challenges with a meticulously designed business model. Leveraging its licensing expertise, WSSM enables companies to utilize multiphase meters and sources across various states, adhering to all regulatory requirements. By managing Emergency programs and serving as the Radiation Safety Officer, WSSM handles all aspects of reporting, legal obligations, and additional licensing needs, allowing clients to focus on their core operations, whether in flowback services or multiphase meter procurement.
Importantly, WSSM LLC ensures all Emergency procedures and licensing protocols are in place, eliminating delays for deploying multiphase meters and sources across state lines. The company streamlines the process, ensuring a secure and efficient experience for clients.
WSSM LLC is proud to announce its certification by the State of Texas, the State of New Mexico, and the State of North Dakota with specific licenses. WSSM is the first company to obtain such licenses in New Mexico and North Dakota.
We offer both permanent and lease options for multiphase meters to clients without their own Radiation Safety Officer, program, or specific licenses. As the industry’s long-awaited solution, WSSM assumes all liability and responsibility.
Companies can now purchase multiphase meters from WSSM, and we manage all regulatory compliance, including those for radioactive materials in New Mexico and North Dakota.
Authorized User Course Certification
The Texas State Department has authorized WSSM LLC to issue Authorized User Certification for fixed gauges on multiphase meters.
